Quiet Day of Birding

Birded up the coast today and visited Ash Creek, St. Mary’s By the Sea, Seaside Park, and Hammo. Rather quiet on the Fairfield/Bridgeport front-surprising. Not too many ducks.

At Hammo it was quiet as well except for a flock of 15 Horned Larks that hung around the parking lot for 20 minutes. The Hudwit was not in its usual spot. Has it moved on? Was on limited time and left out Meig’s Point-scoling myself-should’ve not gone to West Beach! As I later found out there were Common Eiders at Meig’s. That would’ve been a nice stater for me.

It can be really hit and miss at this time of year. I was really hitting the past week but kinda missed today. Still a beautiful day to be out!
