Northern Lapwing in Connecticut!

Ironically, the last time I was in Florida there was a report on April 1st of a Northern Lapwing in Rhode Island, which turned out to be an April Fool’s joke (and was no joke!!). This time, however it turned out to be the real thing. In the midst of a fantastic morning of birding yesterday, I received a call from Nick Bonomo about the bird. As shown by many people’s photos, it seemed the bird showed well yesterday before taking off into the sunset. Unfortunately, there have been no positive reports today. Darn!

The Florida trip was very productive with many highlights! I’ll be posting about it soon.
